We're taking the guesswork out of responsibly recycling your plastic yard signs by connecting them with specialty recyclers who can give them a second life!
How it works

Gather your plastic yard signs.
Collect your plastic yard signs, separate them from the stakes, and remove any fasteners like screws or staples. Up to 3 signs per household are included in this pickup. Signs can be a maximum of 3ft wide.

Place your signs and metal stakes next to your bin.
Stack your signs and metal stakes beside your bin by 8am on your pickup day. Please do not bundle or tape them together - just make sure they're neatly stacked in a place that is easily visible and accessible!

We're taking plastic yard signs and metal stakes - make sure to separate the signs from their stakes! Please clean off any moss and dirt.

Partnering with Merlin Plastics
Merlin Plastics, a circular economy-focused plastic recycler servicing the U.S. and Canada, gives used plastic a new life, providing an alternative to virgin resin to be used by plastic manufacturers. Used plastics, like your plastic items collected by Ridwell, are shredded, washed, and pelletized into a post-consumer resin (PCR) at Merlin. Ultimately, PCR is used to make various commercial and industrial products like nursery planting pots, piping, and more. Merlin is committed to circularizing discarded packaging in an environmentally sound, economically efficient, and socially responsible fashion.
Partnering with Binford Metals
Binford Metals is a family owned and operated metal recycling business serving the Northwest. Binford Metals believe in family values, and apply the same commitment they have for one another, to their business and customers. Binford also believes in supporting the community by giving back through their donation program. Metals provided from Ridwell will be sorted, shredded, and then melted to create new metal products.
Partnering with Trex
Trex is one of the largest recyclers of plastic film in North America, using more than 400 million pounds of recycled plastics - including more than 1.5 billion plastic bags - each year to make its high-performance, wood-alternative decking. A standard 16-foot Trex deck board contains recycled materials from approximately 2,250 plastic bags, and is 95% recycled content.
