Jewish Family Services

Jewish Family Service (JFS) is a nonsectarian, nonprofit human service agency offering comprehensive, integrated, customized services. JFS serves people of all faiths, races, ages, ethnicities, incomes, abilities, gender identities, and sexual orientations. Founded more than 150 years ago, JFS currently offers more than 30 programs and services, including food security, housing stability, mental health counseling, aging care, employment support, refugee resettlement, chaplaincy, and disability services. Materials provided by Ridwell members will help support JFS’s vital programs and services.

Hope Family Thrift Store

The Hope Family Thrift Store was created to provide financial support to the Austin Disaster Relief Network. They provide a clean, organized distribution center for disaster survivors to receive free clothing, shoes and goods and offer gently used quality merchandise at affordable prices to the local community. 100% of their net profits support the mission of Austin Disaster Relief Network. This service is accomplished by volunteers, organizations, community groups and businesses that partner with the store by donating their time and resources to ensure any community and families affected by a disaster are fully supported during such an unsure time of their life.

Nicholas House

Nicholas House’s mission is to help families experiencing homelessness become self-sufficient by providing them with stable housing while addressing the root causes of their homelessness. Their goal is that any family who comes through their program is given the tools they need to establish long-term stability so that they never become homeless again.

They operate a 12-room emergency shelter in Grant Park, as well as numerous apartment sites for families in need of immediate shelter around Atlanta Metro. They also offer rental assistance and prevention services for those at risk of losing their home. Material provided by Ridwell members will help support their many programs.

The Habitat for Humanity ReStores

The Habitat for Humanity ReStores are donation-based home improvement outlets that sell new and gently used furniture, building materials, appliances, home goods, and more at affordable prices. Every item donation and every ReStore purchase helps fund local Habitat homebuilding and home repair programs. They have store locations in Portland, Beaverton, and Gresham.

Compass Family Services believes that every child deserves a home. Founded in 1914 as a Traveler’s Aid organization, Compass has served the most vulnerable populations in San Francisco for over 100 years - through the Great Depression, World War II, and the Summer of Love. Today, Compass provides the most comprehensive range of support services, including mental health and childcare, designed specifically for families in distress.

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children

Friends of Disabled Adults and Children’s (FODAC’s) mission is to enhance the quality of life for people with physical disabilities by providing low to no cost refurbished home medical equipment (HME) and assistive technology to enable greater mobility and independence. FODAC provides more than $10 million annually of HME in Georgia and beyond. As a pioneer in recycling and re-use, FODAC keeps over 400 tons of materials out of landfills each year and is recognized nationally as a best practice leader by the national re-use community. FODAC has a 37-year history and distributes more than 7,500 HME items annually to those in need.

Youth Uprising

Youth Uprising's mission is to transform East Oakland into a healthy and economically robust community by developing the leadership of youth and young adults and improving the systems that impact them. ReStore via Austin Habitat for Humanity

The Austin Habitat for Humanity ReStore is a discount home improvement store and donation center with three locations in the Austin and San Marcos area. ReStore is committed to increasing the community’s access to low-cost building materials and home improvement supplies, diverting valuable, reusable items from the landfill, and supporting Austin Habitat for Humanity’s affordable housing programs in the five counties it serves. They have recycled more than 38 million pounds of debris through their ReStore locations. Items that Ridwell members provide will be used to stock ReStore shelves to ensure the best reuse of this material.

Community Warehouse is your local furniture bank. For over 24 years, they’ve collected and delivered household furnishings to individuals and families overcoming adversity. Clients include people transitioning from homelessness, survivors of domestic violence, refugees and immigrants, veterans, and others recovering from crisis. Community Warehouse provides essential items for a safe and healthy home, like a bed to sleep on and a table to share meals at. These basics offer comfort, dignity, and play a vital role in establishing and maintaining housing stability. Items donated by Ridwell members will help support Community Warehouse's outreach efforts.
